Return of the Toe Crusher

Well, I finally got around to putting batting on the ottoman. This wasn't as simple a job as it could have been as my staples would not take hold in the base of the table. I now know this is because my table is not actually wood but some sort of space-age polymer that for the life of me refused to accept a staple.

Be that as it may, I wasn't about to give up. So out came the hot glue gun and, with some maneuvering, I managed to affix the quilting batting to the ottoman! Halleluia! Of course, nobody ever told me about the perils of hot glue and ploy batting, that bits of fiber sticks to the gun and then your hand and then your pants.

Of course tucking in the ends was a bit tricky without the use of staples, but I managed to get the batting to stay pretty well secured. I wasn't going to let the Toe Crusher defeat me!

After battling the batting, I didn't have the energy to even think about the fabric. You see, now I know I have to glue it, which makes me a little nervous. Since the fabric is not a solid like the ones on the dining room chairs, it's going to be tricky. When working with a pattern, you always want to make sure it's centered and straight, but with hot glue, there's more room for movement. The end result is anyone's guess.

Ladies and gentlemen, place your bets!
